Pool Area @ 6:30 PM Q&A

====================================

Hi Neighbors, we get lots of swale questions so I thought I’d try and clear up a few things!

1) The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) regulates our swales, it’s in place for storm water control.

2) They are built with certain specifications and are NOT to be modified by homeowners. Any modification must be approved by ACHD. They do I peck them and some recently failed and were “fixed”… although we recognize there are still multiple problems and we have been working/fighting to get them remedied.

3) The swales are treated as neighborhood common area. ACHD requires the HOA to maintain the swales, which includes keeping them being mowed regularly. The HOA lawn company contract includes swales, you are NOT required to mow them. If you do want to mow it yourself, let Leslie know and the lawn company will skip your house. We will not be moving to have homeowners mow their own swales as it is a liability to the HOA if they aren’t properly maintained.

4) Sprinkler replacement in the swales often falls on the HOA. We are looking to budget to have some replacements on hand to just do ourselves when problems arise. You can email Leslie if you have a broken sprinkler and she lets the board know OR use the Contact Us option on a cfield.org to go right to the board!

5) If you have sprinklers stuck on for more than 2 hours, there is likely a problem and you should report it. If it’s a weekend, please contact us through cfield.org and we will come turn off the valve and have the lawn company fix it the next weekday. OR you can go find the valve and turn it off yourself (please still report it so it can be looked at). Valve boxes are in varying locations, but generally on the side of a yard or end of an alley in a green box flush to the ground. Please knock on a neighbors door for help too, we have great neighbors here!

Hopefully that clears up some confusion/questions around the swales! Please visit and use cfield.org!
